Honor X9d PTA Tax in Pakistan 2026

Honor X9d PTA tax in Pakistan 2026 on CNIC and passport

The Honor X9d PTA tax in Pakistan is around PKR 14,661 on CNIC and PKR 12,200 on passport.

That figure comes with a warning attached, and you should read it before you plan your budget around it. The Honor X9d is valued at around USD 345 internationally. The rate bracket it falls into ends at USD 350. Your phone is sitting five dollars below a line, and if customs assesses it above that line, the CNIC amount jumps to PKR 23,420. That is PKR 8,759 more for the same phone.

There is a second thing to know. The Honor X9d is not on the FBR list of fixed phone values. That list names specific models and gives each one a set customs value, and no Honor X9 model appears on it. So customs assesses your device and places it in a bracket, rather than reading a published number off a table.

The basic rule first. Every phone used in Pakistan has to be registered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority before it can accept a local SIM. If it is not registered, no Pakistani SIM will work in it and only Wi-Fi will work. To register it you pay a tax, collected by FBR. The amount depends on the assessed value of the phone and on whether you register with your CNIC or your passport.

Honor X9d PTA Tax in Pakistan 2026

Registration TypeAmountIf Assessed Above USD 350
CNICPKR 14,661PKR 23,420
PassportPKR 12,200PKR 17,800

Both columns are real possibilities for this phone. The first column is the more likely one, because the international value sits below USD 350 and a phone that has already been used will usually be assessed lower still. The second column is what you pay if your declared value comes in above the line.

These are estimates. The Honor X9d is not named in the FBR valuation ruling, so customs assesses each device individually. Your exact amount is generated by DIRBS when you register. Check your own figure on the official DIRBS portal before you pay.

Why the Honor X9d Is Not on the FBR List

FBR Valuation Ruling No. 2076 of 2026 lists named phone models and gives each one a fixed customs value in dollars. If your phone is on that list, the value is already decided.

The Honor X9d is not on it. Neither is the X9c, the X9b or the X9a.

When a phone is not named in the ruling, customs assesses the device under the Customs Act instead. The officer looks at the declared cost and freight value on the import paperwork, compares it against the international selling price, and places the device in a bracket. This is why the amount you pay can differ from the amount someone else paid for the same model.

Our guide to the FBR valuation ruling for used phones explains which models are named on the list and how their fixed values were set.

How the Amount Is Worked Out

FBR does not charge tax as a percentage of the phone's value. It puts phones into brackets, and every phone inside a bracket pays one fixed amount. These are the brackets that matter for the Honor X9d under Budget 2026-27.

Phone ValueTax on CNICTax on Passport
USD 100 to USD 200PKR 8,651PKR 6,670
USD 200 to USD 350PKR 14,661PKR 12,200
USD 350 to USD 500PKR 23,420PKR 17,800
Above USD 500PKR 23,007PKR 13,600

The value used is the cost and freight value, which is the price of the phone plus what it cost to ship it. It is not the price a shop in Pakistan is asking, and it is not the launch price from another country.

Worth noticing. The bracket above USD 500 charges less on CNIC than the bracket below it. Rates for phones over USD 500 were reduced on 1 July 2026 and the USD 350 to 500 bracket did not get the same cut. This does not affect the X9d, but it explains why some more expensive phones cost less to register.

Where the Bracket Line Costs You

This is the part that matters most for this particular phone.

The Honor X9d launched in Malaysia in October 2025 at RM 1,499, which was roughly USD 340 at the time. Today it trades internationally at around USD 345 to 351 depending on the variant and the seller. The bracket boundary is USD 350.

So the phone is sitting almost exactly on the line. A few dollars of difference in the declared value, or a small movement in the exchange rate used on the day, decides whether you pay PKR 14,661 or PKR 23,420 on CNIC.

Three things push your device towards the lower side. A used phone rather than a sealed one, the 8GB variant rather than the 12GB one, and a declared value that reflects what you actually paid rather than the launch price.

You cannot control the outcome, but you can find out before you commit. Run the IMEI through DIRBS and read the PSID amount rather than assuming either figure.

Honor X9d PTA Tax on CNIC and Passport

PTA charges two different rates for the same phone. The rate you pay depends on the document you register with.

Registration TypeAmountWho Can Use It
CNICPKR 14,661Anyone registering a phone inside Pakistan
PassportPKR 12,200Travellers registering after arriving with the phone

The passport rate is PKR 2,461 lower. It has one condition. You must have brought the phone into Pakistan yourself, and your passport must show that you arrived recently. If a relative carried it in for you, the passport rate belongs to them and not to you.

Each device can only be registered once, under one document. For most people reading this, the CNIC rate applies.

Honor X9a, X9b and X9c Tax

The older X9 models sit in the same bracket as the X9d, so they cost the same to register.

ModelReleasedTax on CNICTax on Passport
Honor X9dOctober 2025PKR 14,661PKR 12,200
Honor X9c2024PKR 14,661PKR 12,200
Honor X9b2023PKR 14,661PKR 12,200
Honor X9a2023PKR 14,661PKR 12,200

All four are valued between USD 200 and USD 350, so all four fall into the same bracket and pay the same fixed amount. Buying an older X9 model does not reduce your registration cost.

The older models sit further from the USD 350 line than the X9d does, so their assessment is more predictable. The X9d is the only one in the family close enough to the boundary to land in a higher bracket.

Does Storage or RAM Change the Tax

No. The Honor X9d was sold with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. None of that changes what you pay to register it.

Registration is charged per device against the assessed value of the model. A 12GB and 512GB X9d and an 8GB and 256GB X9d pay the same amount.

The one indirect effect is on assessment. A higher specification unit can carry a higher declared value, and on a phone sitting this close to a bracket line, that can matter.

Is It Worth Registering an Honor X9d

Add the registration amount to the price of the phone before you decide, not the tax on its own.

The X9d is a strong mid range phone. It has a 6.79 inch AMOLED screen at 120Hz, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, a 108MP main camera, an 8300mAh battery with 66W charging, and IP68 and IP69K dust and water resistance. Honor also rates it for drops up to 2.5 metres. The battery and the durability rating are the two things that stand out at this price.

So if the total lands near what a new mid range phone costs in Pakistan, it is a reasonable buy. If the seller is asking a high price and you then add PKR 14,661 on top, compare that total against phones sold officially here with a warranty.

One more point. Honor does not have a wide official service network in Pakistan for this model, so repairs mean third party shops and imported parts. Factor that in alongside the tax.

How to Check the Exact PTA Tax on Your Honor X9d

  1. Dial *#06# on the phone to see the IMEI number. You can also find it in Settings, then About phone.
  2. Open the official DIRBS portal at dirbs.pta.gov.pk.
  3. Enter the IMEI and check the status of the device.
  4. If it is not registered, go to the registration section and start a request.
  5. The system gives you a PSID with the exact tax for that IMEI.
  6. Pay the PSID through your bank app, an ATM, or a bank branch.

For the X9d this step is not optional in practice. The phone sits on a bracket boundary, so the difference between the two possible amounts is PKR 8,759 on CNIC. Get the PSID before you agree a price with a seller or plan your payment.

Our guide on how to check PTA tax covers every available method, the PTA tax check by IMEI guide covers that route step by step, and you can check the tax on any phone model with our calculator.

If Your Honor X9d Is Already Blocked

Blocked means the 60 day period ended and the SIM stopped working. Nothing else happens.

There is no fine. The tax does not increase because you waited. Wi-Fi keeps working the whole time, and so does everything that runs over Wi-Fi. You can register the phone today and it will work again once the payment clears, usually within a day.

If you bought the phone secondhand and it was already blocked, register it on your own CNIC. You do not need the previous owner and you do not need any documents from them.

Can You Pay the Honor X9d PTA Tax in Installments

No. PTA tax is one payment against the PSID that DIRBS gives you. There is no official installment option for any model. Our post on the PTA tax installment plan explains the current position in full.

Frequently Asked Questions

Around PKR 14,661 on CNIC and PKR 12,200 on passport. The X9d is not named in the FBR valuation ruling, so this is an estimate based on the USD 200 to 350 bracket. If your device is assessed above USD 350 the CNIC amount becomes PKR 23,420. Check your own IMEI on dirbs.pta.gov.pk for the exact figure.
Because the phone is valued at around USD 345 and the bracket boundary is USD 350. A small difference in the declared value or the exchange rate on the day decides which side of the line your device lands on.
Yes. The X9a, X9b, X9c and X9d are all valued between USD 200 and USD 350, so all four fall into the same bracket and pay around PKR 14,661 on CNIC and PKR 12,200 on passport.
Valuation Ruling No. 2076 of 2026 is the current ruling, issued in April 2026, and it replaced Ruling No. 2035 of 2026. No Honor X9 model is named in it, so assessment falls under the Customs Act instead of a fixed published value.
Because the X9d is not on the FBR list of fixed values, so customs assesses your device individually. The declared cost and freight value, the dollar rate on the day, and the bracket your device lands in all change the final number.
Not directly. Registration is charged per device and RAM does not change the bracket. It can matter indirectly, because a higher specification unit may carry a higher declared value, and this phone sits close to a bracket boundary.
Only if you brought the phone into Pakistan yourself and your passport shows a recent arrival. If someone else carried it in for you, the passport rate belongs to them, not to you.
It was announced on 24 September 2025 and released on 9 October 2025, starting in Malaysia at RM 1,499. It runs Android 15 with MagicOS 9.
Sixty days from the first time the phone connects to a Pakistani network. After that it is blocked from Jazz, Zong, Ufone, Telenor and SCO, and only Wi-Fi keeps working until you register it.
No. There is no late fee and the tax does not go up because time has passed. Register it whenever you are ready and the phone works again once the payment clears.
Yes. Registration goes on the CNIC of whoever is registering the phone, not the person who owned it before. You do not need any documents from the seller.
The phone supports 5G, but Pakistani networks have not launched commercial 5G yet, so it runs on 4G here. This does not affect your PTA tax.
Add the registration amount to the asking price and compare that total against phones sold officially in Pakistan with a warranty. The 8300mAh battery, the IP68 and IP69K rating and the 2.5 metre drop rating are its strongest points. Remember that Honor has limited official service coverage here for this model.
